My name is Georgia Springer. I was born and raised on a farm in Illinois and I have 3 children and 7 granddaughters. My oldest son is a roofer and a cook, and my youngest son owns a roofing company and also works for a large agricultural conglomerate. My boys live in Illinois and have five girls between the two. My daughter works for the Social Security Administration in Denver, Colorado and has two daughters.
My professional career was with Caterpillar Tractor Co. located in Peoria, Illinois. I started out my career by delivering mail on a bicycle and ended up in an executive management position in the Planning & Storeroom operations. After retiring from Caterpillar with 39 years of service, we relocated to a retirement community in St. George, Utah in 2002. St. George reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting and I instantly fell in love with the town.
Unfortunately, my husband passed away in 2005 and I made the decision to move once more to a 100 year old cottage that needed a lot of tender loving care. I worked thru the grieving process by spending time remodeling, decorating and doing a lot of yard work. The home is now an adorable little yellow cottage with window boxes, cobble stone driveway, pergola and beautiful rose bushes. After completing the cottage remodel, I again became restless so I decided to give back to the community that had been so welcoming to me. I volunteered in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, ICU, IHC Thrift/Gift Shops, and a short time at the Chamber of Commerce and Police Department.
The volunteering itself kept me very busy but I truly missed the painting, hanging wallpaper, laying tile and all the things that come with remodeling...so I decided to buy another home. This time I purchased a short-sell that had good bones but still needed upgrading. This project has taken up the last two years of my life and is where I call home. My cottage is now a rental but is well loved by its new tenant.
Because owning a home(s) has brought so much pleasure and security I know how important a real estate purchase is to a homebuyer. Whether it is a young couple just starting out, or the older couple that has decided to downsize, or the husband or wife
that is now widowed, I want to be an integral part of bringing joy to the family who decides to make St. George, Utah their home.
It is hard to summarize one's life in one page, but for now, this will give you an insight as to who I am as a person. It will be up to you to decide if we would be a good fit. I won't make you promises I can't keep and if I don't know the answers to your questions, I will find out who does and I will work extremely hard on your behalf.
Regards and Best Wishes, Georgia Springer
